Josh has always been a huge fan of Nas and I thought it would be appropriate to post this dope mixtape from Don Cannon and Cookin’ Soul. Since no one really has a clue as to when Nas’ Lost Tapes 2 is dropping (Nas said he might make it a bonus disc for his album releasing in December), Cookin’ Soul decided remix a few of the classics and give a whole new feel to the Queenbridge rapper’s music! This is definitely worth a listen!
This video came out on Monday and already has over 11 million views!!! But it just may be worth it because of the amazing story.
Ted Williams is a homeless man living in Columbus, Ohio who has a God Given gift. He has truly one of the nicest voiceover/radio/television voices that anyone has ever heard! Williams had actually studied and trained to perfect his voice but rough patches with drugs, alcohol, and criminal troubles which led to his homelessness. But all that might change. He has already gotten several job offers including jobs from the Cleveland Cavaliers, local radio stations, and even NFL Films. Nice!
This is a pretty underwhelming field in my opinion. I was hoping to get a Lebron vs Blake Griffin showdown since LBJ claimed he was contemplating entering the contest again. At the very least I wanted to see Shannon Brown get a 2nd chance (even though he screwed up so bad the first time around he probably didn’t deserve one) or Eric Gordon try since he couldn’t get past the dunk-in last year.
All in all, I think the best we can hope for is a Vince Carter-esque debut for Griffin (possible, but not probable) and a surprise performance from one of the other contestants.
Take a look at the contestants and some of their dunks below.
Sidenote: I wish the league went back to having 8 contestants per contest.
These are the types of songs from Joey that usually stick with me and have some longevity in my ipod. gotta appreciate an artist that can make music the average person can relate to.
