I just came across this video and thought it was amazing. Although looked down upon in some circles of people and forgotten in most, the meat butcher is one of detailed and skillful jobs anyone can have. The attention and artistry that this butcher shows gives you a sense of how careful and dedicated one must be to reach the highest skill set. The balance between the music and such a brutal act being done so delicately is a perfect combination. Of the 211 pound pig, only 1 pound was actually thrown away!
Coming in a close second to Gourmet shoes, CLAE is my second favorite shoe company (outside Nike of course). They just released images of their shoes that will be dropping throughout spring and summer this year. Expect to see lots of great colors and designs along with three new styles, the Elington, the Bruce, and the Zissou. Check out what you will see on my feet after the jump!!!
Haiti faced a natural disaster of unprecedented proportion, an earthquake unlike anything the country has ever experienced. The magnitude 7.0 earthquake – and several very strong aftershocks – struck only 10 miles from Port-au-Prince. Over 2 million people in Port-au-Prince faced this catastrophe alone and idle hands will only make this tragedy worse. Many people across the country have already started to contribute to the Haiti Relief Effort and Play Cloths must do its part as well. Sometimes it is very confusing when donating do to the high level of corruption within certain charities but in this instance Play Cloths feels that Wyclef Jean is a man they can trust.
So starting today, Friday January 15th @ 3pm EST, Play Cloths will release a signature Jack logo t-shirt designed for the Haiti Relief Effort. 100% OF THE PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED to the YELE HAITI EARTHQUAKE FUND, which is an organization supported by Wyclef Jean. In order to send the donation as fast as they can, the Haitian Jack t-shirt will only be on sale from Friday January 15th to Friday January 22nd (one week only).
Gourmet has got to be one of my favorite shoe companies! This past weekend they wrapped up their exhibit at the Agenda Tradeshow in Huntington Beach, CA and gave a sneak peek of what we missed. Looks like Gourmet is on their game for 2010 and beyond. If you just so happen to be in Berlin this weekend, catch them at Bread & Butter.
Check out a larger picture after the jump for a better view!
I’m not a huge fan of these particular shoes, but I thought it would be right to post since it involved the Lakers. Anyway, adidaswill release a Lakers edition of their Phantom II in an all purple colorway. The shoe will feature the Lakers logo on the tongue and the team name spelled out across the back. The best part about the shoe is that it will come with an autographed basketball by Lakers guard Jordan Farmar. These will only release at Undefeated Los Angeles
To celebrate the return of Bread & Butter Berlin exhibition, Penfield has teamed up with them to make a denim and leather down vest. The vest is limited to only 61 and is said to release only to Bread & Butter friends and family. The number 61 was chosen to pay homage to the old Berlin Tempelhof airport. The Bread & Butter fashion exhibition will take place in Berlin, Germany next week.
Josh told me about this over the weekend and I thought it was pretty funny! Plus folks are talking about it on Twitter! So I had to post! Lay off the weed Earl…
Here is another clip from Shawn Chrys’ New Year’s Eve performance at the Roxy last month. I spliced in a bit of his performance of Lose Your Mind and Me. I’ll be dropping a clip of his unreleased track soon. A City With No Seasons and the song Me are all on iTunes, so go cop that.
This is an important day that should never be forgotten. The actions of Martin Luther King Jr. are even more important now that a black man has reached the highest point of American politics. Thank you Martin Luther King Jr. and the many people that have created a better America for all races to live.
If you had not heard, fashion mega giant, Maison Martin Margiela recently released their first fragrance after three years of development. Created as a unisex fragrance with minimal packaging design, the name “untitled” represents the brand’s “no label” approach. This past weekend, the brand hosted an event in Paris in which selected individuals were able to learn details regarding the bottle design and development of the scent. Just through the pictures you can see that the process of creating a fragrance is extremely long and extensive. Check out pictures from the event after the jump.
