Saturday Night Live- The Situation Room: Tiger Woods (Video)

The folks over at SNL decided to poke fun at the entire Tiger Woods situation and instead of generating laughs, the skit is drawing criticism. Many people are upset that the show is making fun of domestic violence regardless of which gender is the victim. Some are saying that the writers at Saturday Night Live went way over the line with this one.
My Opinion – I think the skit was a little to early and somewhat bad timing considering that Rihanna was the show’s guest; she being a high-profile victim of domestic violence. On the other hand, SNL has made a career at taking the latest, up to the minute current affairs and turning them into comedic gold. Regardless of what the situation may be, SNL will try it’s best to pull out any type of humorous joke and make someone laugh. I personally laughed my ass off while watching the skit because these were the same thoughts that were in the back of head when the entire Tiger Woods affair was unraveling. The truth is we know this is not what happened in the Woods’ house and that he is doing fine after his minor accident. Domestic violence is no laughing matter whether the gender roles are reversed or not, but sometimes we need to take a step back and laugh at the altered reality.
