Kanye West & Bill Plympton present “Through The Wire” – The Words and Lyrics of Kanye West

Through the Wire is a graphic memoir that illustrates the lyrics of twelve Kanye West songs to tell his story, from his decision to drop out of college to pursue his dreams in music, through his days spent folding chinos at the Gap while struggling at night to make a name as a producer, through the pivotal car accident that eventually set him on the course to stardom and the epiphany of realizing exactly who he had become.
Academy Award-nominated animator, cartoonist, and illustrator, Bill Plympton illustrates each of the songs in detail, his vision of Kanye’s world. The songs are annotated with explanations of the references in the songs, biographical components that illuminate the lyrics, and their meaning on a deeply personal level.
The result is a one-of-a-kind book that initially grabs you and stays with you forever. “Through The Wire” will see a release on November 9th, 2009 at select booksellers, although Amazon is now taking pre-orders.

Toys – SpongeBob SquarePants Bearbrick 400%

Ever since I bought my first MEDICOM x Undefeated Bearbrick, I have been a huge fan of these little toys that go for big prices. Being that I have a younger sister that always came home after school to watch SpongeBob SquarePants, I have also become a huge fan of the yellow sea dweller. So I thought this was pretty cool that the two could come together to make one of MEDICOM TOY’s 400% toys. If you know Bearbricks then you know these are the larger figures (about 12 inches) that would make a great addition to anyone’s collection. I’m not sure but I think this one may only be available through Paris-based retailer colette right now.

HUF x Nike SB Canvas Blazer Mid & Apparel Collection

A real west coast feel with these joints! The good folks over at HUF decided to design a Chuck Taylor-inspired Nike SB Blazer. Releasing in both a black and white canvas and a cream and white canvas colorways, the shoes feature a stitched swoosh outline, Silver eyelets, White dual brand tagging, and thin canvas tongue, sitting atop a Harbor midsole. a collection of apparel will also accompany the release of the shoes. A work jacket, matching t-shirts, and trucker hat will release as part of the collection. Everything will drop exclusively at HUF LA and HUF SF on November 7th!

Supreme Book Vol. 5 – RZA

World Famous Supreme Team drop their fifth installment of the Supreme book this time featuring the RZA of Wu-Tang clan on the cover! Some of the content includes articles on Damien Hirst, Diddy, Eric Koston, Nate Lowman, and John Lurie. Supreme also enlisted the amazing talents of photography Terry Richardson (the man photographed himself with Obama) for the pics. The book will hit Japanese stands October 26th with a US release to soon follow!
