I was in attendance, and Lakers fans let me tell you, there’s nothing that beats being surrounded by nothing but Lakers fans without one Lakers hater in attendance. That never happens, even at the games. There was one person who decided try to be funny and show up in a celtics jersey, but he was promptly escorted away by the police in fear for his safety.

Lakers Defeat Magic to Win 2009 NBA Championship

For the first time since 2002, the NBA Championship finally belongs to the Los Angeles Lakers. Kobe Bryantfinally adds an NBA Finals MVP trophy to a collection that already includes championship rings, a regular season MVP, All Star MVP trophies, an Olympic gold medal, as well as numerous accolades. After defeating the Utah Jazz, the Houston Rockets, the Denver Nuggets, and Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers the Orlando Magic The Lakers claimed the 15th title in franchise history, 2nd to only the Boston Celtics who have 17.
While the Lakers can celebrate now, soon they’ll have to focus on their free agent situation, with Trevor Ariza and Lamar Odom both having contracts expiring at the end of the season. Both players were vital throughout the playoffs and for a long time it was speculated that the Lakers would have to choose between their 2 forwards, however, last night, ESPN analyst and Lakers co-owner Magic Johnson hinted that the Lakers may indeed go over the salary cap to resign both.
It’s been a long season…Congradulations Lakers!!!
