While watching PTI today, I saw this new commercial from Nike. The ad shows other professional golfers winning, partying, and having fun in the 8 months Tiger has been gone. The golfers are even on the covers of several magazines and hanging out and signing autographs by a pool. The next scene has all the players in a locker room preparing for a tournament and in come Tiger Woods! Things are back to normal! Check it out…

Blu Signs with Sire/Warner Brothers Records!

According to a recent Los Angeles Times article, LA rapper Blu has signed a new deal with Sire Records owned by Warner Music Group. Blu has released three albums in the past two years all receiving critical acclaim. 2007′s Below The Heavens produced entirely by Exile received amazing reviews and some considered it a classic debut. Blu’s manager, Johnathan Kim said about the major label move, “This is one step further to where we would like to see Blu’s career end up.” He added that Blu’s working on an album slated for a fall release.

Timeless: A Suite For Ma Dukes (Video)

Saw this video of the recent tribute concert for J Dilla called Timeless: A Suite for Ma Dukes which took place over the weekend. The concert featured a 40 piece orchestra with arrangements by Miguel Atwood Ferguson. Hip hop artists such as Posdnous of De La Soul, Talib Kweli, J Dilla’s younger brother Illa J all lent their talents to honor one of the greatest producer in music. Unfortunately I was unable to attend but if their is another you will definitely see me there!

Stephon Marbury and New York Knicks Finally Reach Agreement

After a long, drawn out situation that saw both a player and an organization behave stubbornly and immaturely, it sounds like Stephon Marbury and the New York Knicks have finally reached an agreement that will allow the two sides to part ways. This frees up Stephon Marbury make the widely anticipated move to the Boston Celtics in time for him to be eligible to participate in the playoffs. This may or may not be good news for the other top teams in the NBA who may end up facing the Celtics in the playoffs. On one end, some say Marbury would disrupt team chemistry and thus negatively affect the Celtics run at a repeat championship. On the other side, proponents say that someone with the skill and talent of Marbury would only strengthen the Celtics bench, which is in need of some help (which it already got with the recent signing of Mikki Moore). Assuming Marbury does sign with the Celtics, which he would need to do by Sunday, it would be an interesting turn in an already eventful NBA season, and add some excitement come playoff time.
