New 3G iPhone Unveiled

The much anticipated 3G iPhone was revealed today by Apple’s Steve Jobs.
The newer version will run on the 3G network and have internet that is roughly 2.8 times faster than the EDGE network on the current version of the iPhone, as well as 36% faster than Nokia’s N95 and Treo 750. The new version will also be significantly more affordable at $199 for the 8GB version and $299 for the 16GB version. The 16GB version will be offered in both black and white. In addition to being cheaper, the new iPhone will offer the ability to download unique applications to the phone ranging from free to $9.99. It also has improved battery life with 300 hours of standby, 8-10 hours of 2G talk, 5 hours of 3G talk, 7 hours of video, and 24 hours of audio. It will also come with an improved GPS system, which can pinpoint a users exact location at anytime.
The new iPhone hits the shelves in 77 countries on July 11th.
