New York brand Nom de Guerre just released their lookbook for their Fall/Winter Collection. Always having an emphasis on the basics, their collection was designed with a high-end military theme. Very nice look with a upscale, sophisicated look.

First seen on his feet at the Grammys this year, rumors around town is that these are Kanye’s new Nike shoes aka The Nike Air Yeezy!!! Unlike competitor Reebok, Nike has never made a shoe for a non-athlete so this would be a monumental leap for the brand. From a design standpoint, the shoe appears to have the sole of the Jordan 3′s with premium leather, suede, perforated leather on the toe box and a patent leather strap across the laces. There is no word on production, availability, or a release date yet!

Espn reported today that the NBA owners voted 28-2 to allow the Seattle Sonics to move to Oklahoma City and begin playing as early as the 08-09 season. Owner Clay Bennett has one more obstacle before he can move the team to his hometown: a lawsuit with the city of Seattle! The Sonics still have 2 years left on their lease and the city is trying to force them to stay the remainder until 2010. Bennett was trying to settle the dispute by offering $26 million but the city rejected and the trial will begin in federal court June 16. Bennett is also facing a class action lawsuit from season ticket holders who say they were duped into buying season tickets thinking the team would not leave. The Sonics have been in Seattle since the 1967-68 season and would be the first team to move since the Charlotte Hornets moved to New Orleans for the 02-03 season. This might get ugly so we will keep you posted!
Note* - Owners also voted to increase the revenue sharing pool from $40 million to $49 million and the competition committee will take up the issue of whether to change the current playoff format. This may include Western and Eastern conference teams playing each other in every round!

New York Knicks fans can now rejoice and exhale as the Isiah Thomas era comes to an end. This afternoon, new president Donnie Walsh announced that Isiah Thomas would not return as head coach of the Knicks but will stay apart of the organization. This is mostly because the Knicks still owe him $18 million from a big contract extension he signed 13 months ago. Walsh stated, “I value Isiah’s knowledge of the game and his opinions, so I will use him as a resource. Isiah will be reporting to me. There will be nobody reporting to Isiah.” After spending 20 years with the Indiana Pacers, Donnie Walsh replaced Thomas as president on April 2 but waited until today to relieve Thomas of coaching duties. In the 2 years as head coach of the New York Knicks, Isiah Thomas had a record of 56-108 and finished this year 23-59 matching a franchise record in losses. With Thomas being gone but still around, Walsh’s primary objectives are getting the team under the salary cap by 2010 and hiring the right coach. Rumors are that former Knick and Pacer Mark Jackson may be the leading candidate. Walsh and Jackson know each from their time in Indiana where Jackson helped to lead the Pacers to a NBA Championship appearance.

After a season in which he played only six games, had two touchdowns, four interceptions, and seven fumbles, Steve McNair has decided to hang up the cleats and retire. An 07 season that included a groin injury in the beginning of the season and surgery on his non-throwing shoulder, McNair explained he is physically unable to perform his job at a high level. Before last season, McNair led the Baltimore Ravens to a franchise best 13-3 record in his first season with the team. Other highlights in his possible Hall of Fame career include 3 Pro Bowl selections, 2003 All-Pro selection, 2003 co-MVP, and a trip to the Super Bowl in 1999. All but one Pro-Bowl selection were achieved with the Tennessee Titans! With a 82.8 QB rating, the 35 year old McNair’s stats include 31,304 passing yards and 3590 rushing yard; only the 3rd QB in NFL history to pass for 30,000 yards and rush for 3,000 yards.
